One of our core values at Danish Island Weddings is to collaborate with as many local businesses and incorporate as many local products as possible.

Firstly, to support our local community in whatever ways we can (one of the iconic Ærø t-shirts at Den Gamle Købmandsgaard reads "We all do better, when we all do better").

Secondly, to make sure the uniqueness of our beautiful little island - the ferry journey here, the ease of the natural landscape, the slower pace of life, the absolute charm of the old historic towns and villages, the Nordic informality and focus on “hygge” - the place you have chosen to get married is represented in every aspect of your wedding day.

And thirdly, to provide the most environmentally friendly full-circle and full-service wedding planning assistance.

One of our indispensible partners is Ærø Pluk Selv Blomster (pick-your-own flower field). While the majority of our flowers in high season come from our friend Camilla’s cutflower garden, we simply couldn’t create the in-season wedding flower experience for our couples without this beautiful source of organic locally grown flowers. Harvesting flowers and creating arrangements and bouquets is definitely one of the more fun and creative parts of our job :-)
