Strandskoven Wedding: Grace and Jonas

UPDATE: We no longer offer weddings at this big property but now focus more on small intimate celebrations and elopements. So you can explore our other unique wedding venues.

Nearly 30 years ago, I helped arrange my big sister’s wedding party at Strandskoven, and it was during this time that my dream of planning weddings on Aeroe was born. So I am beyond pleased to be able to announce that Danish Island weddings can now add this stunning location to its list of venues!

Strandskoven was originally built as a dance hall in 1905, and it was the hangout place for the youth of Ærø in the 60’s. Luckily it still stands today, - a romantic white villa, set in substantial grounds right on west beach, housing two large function rooms with panoramic windows and a large terrace offering incredible sunsets over the bay.

American born Grace and Danish Jonas were married at Strandskoven on a hot summer's day this August. For the decorations we chose wild summer flowers, gold cutlery, Royal Copenhagen plates, and string lights, to help create an atmosphere of bohemian luxury. They opted for a casual 4 course meal with BBQ buffet featuring local products and fresh salads, followed by our favorite cakes from DGK.
